Katelyn is our sweet and sassy little thing. Hard to believe that she was once a quiet and shy girl. What a joy she is to have around. She is such a fun little buddy. She loves all things girly. She is very smart and knows exactly how to get things she wants in life. One of my favorite qualities in Kate is her innate desire to nurture. She is one of the best big sisters I have ever seen. She is best known for her snuggling abilities. T

Here's my birthday girl. I can hardly believe it. I still watch her baby videos and feel like it was yesterday.
For Kate's birthday she asked to have her cousin Avery spend the night and then go get her ears pierced. Emma came along and then Abby met up with us. It was super exciting to be there with her when she finally got her ears pierced. It was a big moment for us girls. None of us wanted to miss it.
Dinner was not our first pick to say the least but because of time we ended up at McDonald's. Yuk!
After dinner we headed over to the Highland Village Mall to visit Claire's. Every girls dream place, right?
Kate was super giddy, nervous, and excited! I was amazed at her courage. She was being so brave.
Here it comes... She hardly flinched when she got poked.
Yay, you are looking at the newest "ear-pierced" little girl. She was beaming all night. Love that smile.
After Kate had her ears pierced, she and Avery looked high and low for little trinkets. They spent over 30 minutes examining everything. They were very serious about their hunt.
Afterwards we visited Bahama Bucks. The employees sang this super loud song for Kate and she loved it.
Grandma Martin was visiting her sisters in California so Grandpa decided to come visit us. It was so neat to have him here and share in all our new changes. He brought some fun toys for the kids.
We soaked up every minute we could of his time. It was great to have another set of hands to help with homework. The kids loved reading to him.
Date night we took grandpa to Denton, where I grew up. We met up with my parents for dinner. We ate some yummy Texas BB-Q and had great conversation.| Lance and his dad on the Denton Square. |

| These girls sure love their grandpa. |
We celebrated Grandpa's birthday while he was in town with us.
A quick game of soccer in our backyard as dad grilled chicken for dinner.
We were so glad that grandpa came out. It was just the break that we needed. We loved getting to hug him.
This little guys is such a rock star at our home. He gets all the love he could every want.
Lance and I attended my 20 year high-school reunion. It was in downtown Denton so we grabbed a bite to each just before and then headed over. It was so neat to see everyone.
My girlfriend Rockell was not able to attend but it was great to see Brandi Lodes Simmons.
That girl is a hoot. She hasn't changed much.
