We told the kids they could not wake us up before 6 am. If they woke up earlier they could look through their stockings. At 5:59 am we had Kate and Gavin ready to party.
Kate and Gavin both asked for roller skates this year.
Emma and Abby both asked for Beats earphones.
Ethan asked for a television for his bedroom. Sam woke up around 8:00. It was nice to focus on the bigger kids for a few hours and then we all sat around and watch Sam with his toys.
We were all pretty lazy for the morning. The kids sat and played around with all their new stuff.
This was our front room half way throught the day.
LeAnn's son, Connor got to call home from his mission in Spain. We wanted to see him when he called so they came over to our house and let say hi. He looks so happy. He had quite the welcoming committee. We were all there.
My sister sure looks happy. I can only image how great it is to see your missionary who has been gone for almost a year. What a sacrifice but I know she and Scott are so proud. It was fun to watch Cameron, Chase, and Scott speak Spanish together.
Saturday we got the kids up and drove around delivering treats to people in our ward. Lance and I really wanted to do something where we could serve and visit others as a family. It felt nice to hang out with our little family. We were close to Roanoke so we visited Twisted Root and then the candy store. Last year we did this a day before Christmas and it was one of our favorite days of the Christmas break.
These kids make me so happy. I know the teenagers are ready to hang out with their friends but we love having them with us.
